During the week between 19 & 26 January 2013, a team of  Takemusu Aikido Egypt instructors  – belonging to a new group of Egyptian Aikidoka that have decided to introduce the Aikido of Iwama in Egypt and the Middle East under the technical direction of Simone Chierchini and the supervision of Paolo Corallini sensei – has visited our country for his first annual training tour

During the week, our Egyptian friends (Amer Mahmoud Taha – San Dan Aikikai, Eid Mohamed Selim – San Dan Aikikai, Mamdouh Fayez Bakkar – Ni Dan Aikikai, Fawzy Mohamed Kamel – Ni Dan Aikikai, Mostafa Elnabawy Elshall – Sho Dan Aikikai, Ahmad Mohammad Elgendy – San Dan Aikikai, Tawfik Ahmed Hosny, Ahmed Zakaria Mohamed) took part into a full immersion in Takemusu Aikido graciously offered by Simone Chierchini at his dojo in Vasto, and Paolo Corallini at the Takemusu Aikido Dojo in Osimo.
The purpose of this Aikido mission was to continue in the strengthening of the foundation of Takemusu Aikido in Egypt, following Simone’s first two visits in Cairo. The instruction – enriched by a wealth of details – focused on the organization of the basic Tai Jutsu practice, with particular reference to the use of Kihon as a teaching tool. Much time was also devoted to Buki Waza, with the presentation of the basic Aikiken suburi and harmonizations (Ken Suburi Nana Hon and Ken  no Awase), and the basic suburi, harmonizations and two kata in Aikijo (Jo Suburi Nijuppon, Jo no Awase, San Ju Ichi Jo No Kata and Ju San Jo No Kata).

During the stay in Osimo, moreover, it was formalized the birth of Takemusu Aikido Egypt association under the umbrella of TAAI (Takemusu Aikido Association Italy) and its relative connection with the Aikikai Hombu Dojo. Takemusu Aikido Egypt, whose first president was elected in the person of Mamdouh Fayez Bakkar – Ni Dan Aikikai, will be directed by Simone Chierchini, official delegate in Egypt of Paolo Corallini sensei.
The association, founded in early 2012 by the initiative of a group of Egyptian senpai, eager to discover the traditional Aikido – while remaining within the Aikikai family – currently counts 6 dojo located in the Cairo area. For information about Takemusu Aikido Egypt, visit the group’s website (under construction).
